First, if/when I get bad-hacked, I will reach out to you ASAP. Second, great question here I was thinking the entire time until you said it: "Does SEO have a future?"

Clearly, finding information is still very valuable, but now it's more like AIEO or something. Old MacDonald had a botfarm, EIEIO!

New game. Like a year ago maybe (even writing every week, the markers of time in an AI world move too fast!) there was AIO that mapped cleanly to SEO but there is no more search and click. How often do you check references to answers ChatGPT spits out?

Now you have ads in free ChatGPT. That’s interesting - think how much your AI knows about you. Talk about a targeting goldmine! Of course openAI says they wont use it that way but … they will.

Google just came out with a new model that looks really good on paper. Beating openAI and Anthropic’s latest in key benchmarks. Their stock … dropped. Search remains their cash cow.

I was just getting to advertising while reading your comment! Ha!

That's such a huge game changer, like it's not even the same category of game any more. I mean, it IS - it's ultra-personalized and very, very direct. And I'm SURE some AIs will guide you to businesses who bribe them.

Only for friends! So for you, yes.

SEO - already annoying.

SEO with hacked domains, gambling funnels, AI- generated mascots, and 17 breached accounts - ummmm, absolutely not. 😂

Transporting to the other side of the world where they're obviously using AI like mad and couldn't care less about Claude or Altman or Dario was an interesting place to imagine.
