I think of that a lot. The old men need to *do* something productive or STFU.
Even taking a completely cynical view of Open AI, it's clear that Altman is legitimately afraid of losing control of agents. Even if it's not going to ruin the world, it's going to ruin PR for AI in a very big way when it happens - and I'm pretty sure it's gonna happen, and soon.
Open AI would very much love for that not to happen on their watch.
