Great post. I feel like even with all the huge numbers of users and their dominant / leading place in this new world of AI, OpenAI may be overreaching. My level of faith that they'll be great all the things is low right now.

Right. I do think search is ripe for the taking, lots of people seeing how dumb traditional web search is vs GenAI tools for search - as in search that actually answers a question or gets right at your topic. Maybe shopping too. I feel like Google's enshittification of search is being mirrored by Amazon doing the same for online shopping.

Tx Tom! After I wrote it, I was talking to R. She works for a biggish software company in the Valley and she had just left a meeting about their AI strategy. Where/how to add it for most impact, etc. Someone said why don’t we think about writing an integration with ChatGPT like I talked about — that blew everyone’s mind so they disbanded to take naps.
