Yea actually ... Jamaica and Kingston predates Tokyo in my HS buddies aunts house sleeping in bed together and cold showers. His cousin had a vw van part of a black market bus transport system (tourists may have been involved?)
we took the train to Montego Bay and I sold my blue and yellow Swatch watch to the hotel bartender for some red stripes
we took some girls out at the hotel dancing and I crashed my rental motorcycle cuz I couldn't figure out how to turn the headlight on

Never been to Cleveland, but I went to Columbus OH once. My only foray into the Heartland (unless TX counts?). It was a business trip for WF/Wachovia and I remember these habitrail connectors between the buildings downtown so you could get back and forth without braving the winter. I also remember a big presidential plane at the airport so it must’ve been swing state election season.
The earlier version of me would’ve been super intersted in Jerusalem and Cairo but not so much now.
I am dazzled by your global mobility. I have always been fascinated by population statistics. When 10M is considered small for a megacity, I lose all perspective.
Agree and India and China with their massive comparative populations are mind boggling. I didn’t realize Tokyo was so big until years after I visited. My sister told me Jarkarta (#1 now) is sinking into the ocean. She showed me some video of this teeny seewall separating the city from the ever encroaching ocean.
We (US-ians) are a small fraction of the world population and now we’re so insular this can’t end well.
Regardless, I don’t want to go to any of those places now! There’s a highway - called the AlCan I think - that goes from Alaska through Canada to the US. That’d be something. I bet there is something similar back your way
