Hmmm no wind thank you. I only drive when the sky is sunny, the air is calm and rainbows are out and unicorns prancing. (That's why we picking up the van today instead of the atmospheric river mess that was Tuesday)
Two friends we happen to have bought a business from did exactly this, circa 2022. They toured everywhere they could drive, saw a ton of friends, and I'm pretty sure they have settled in Thailand (For now). Very interesting adventures may be ahead for you!
Living the dream! I want all that - except the Thailand expat bit. It's atmospheric rivering here in NorCal today so couldn't pickup spidervan; wondering if it's all just a big tease
Yeah so … roomy! But we wanted something eminently drivable. The goal is to go to cool places, not tow or drive a big rig that doesn’t fit. I went the other direction too - going smaller van or one of those truck over things but JFran had a few demands. Also the amazing spider-rv doesn’t hit the same.
Travels with Charley is a good read of a man and his dog and his truck camper Rocinante searching for the soul of America. The Amazing Spider-Van origin story is based on a family trip where my dad rented an RV and I’ll have to write that up someday.
Wherever the wind carries your spidey web...

Uh oh. Maybe your life is pivoting away from Vanville. Is an RV in the cards instead?
Like seriously, an RV is kind of appealing in some ways... but I suspect the cons outweigh most of the pros for me.

Neat! I love a good vehicular myth/legend.
BTW, they dubbed their vehicle Van Halen.
ha, that's a great name!
